ebr 14913
On the Roku, the item was being statically streamed and I see no indication of any problems in the log. The audio bitrate doesn't seem too high but I wonder if the odd (for us) frame rate of the video is throwing off the audio somehow. If you lower the bitrate setting in the app so it transcodes, does the issue go away?
Erik 120
Hi, I set the Roku way down to 3Mbps and then played the same file. It plays ok with the transcoding. I check a couple other files and yes the ones with a framerate of 50 all have the same issue. As i said, i have watched at least 1 or 2 of these files on the same roku within the last 6 months so its a bit odd. I will extract a sample and PM you a link if that helps sort it out. Thanks. ebr 14913
Can I please see the transcode log from when you forced that? Thanks.
Erik 120
Sure can. PM'd also a link for a 5 min sample just in case.
ebr 14913
I'm not sure. Could be related to firmware changes on the Roku. When you transcoded it, we kept the framerate at 50 and stream copied the audio. The player is just having trouble it would appear when direct streaming it. Erik 120
Thanks. For my own troubleshooting, if you have time can you tell me if the sample file gives you any issues? I'm trying to isolate the issue instead of just not being able to watch those episodes without setting the bitrate low as i obviously don't want to leave it there all the time. Thanks, Erik
Solution Erik 120 Posted June 29, 2018 Author Solution Share Posted June 29, 2018 Update: My Roku ultra's updates to firmware 8.1.0 (Build 4137) and playback is fixed. Must have been a roku firmware issue that is now resolved. Thanks.
