No Sound with Chrome / Firefox / Edge (Web interface)

Hi

I have no sound in the browser using the ui interface. I have no idea why with the most of my episodes (mkv - h264 - 720p / 1080p) it's like that :/
I'm using a docker, I don't know if that change something or not .... I did a pull just before this log to be sure to be up to date
Under all browsers, tried with Ubuntu and Windows. Just some mkv can be read with edge but 10% works for every browsers. 5% in more can be read by Edge only ...

Do you need some logs ? I tried with one mkv without any sound. I had only this for the moment :/

Do you have Media Playback options disabled for the User?  Dashboard-Users-select User

This would appear to be the likely cause given that it is direct copying the audio even though chrome and firefox do not support ac3.

Thank you for your fast answer, could you please send me a picture from your dashboard. I'm not sure and my interface is in french. I don't know if I can change it without reset everithing :/

 

@@Luke, sorry if I missed something, I'm new :). I will fix my thread if the solution given doesn't work.
Edit: I read your thread @@Luke, and maybe I'm dumb but what do you want in more ? I give you docker logs and "my words" to describe the problem ;)

Indeed, it was that but It's a little bit confusing in french => The second line "Allow audio playback that requires transcoding" sould be translated in "Permettre la lecture audio nécessitant un transcodage" instead of "Autoriser la lecture de musique nécessitant un transcodage".

When you said "Musique" / "Music", I believed it was for the music library, not the audio :)

Without your help, I could wait before to find it :D

weirdly it is 2020 now and I am seeing the same... 1 hour ago i got some updates on my ubuntu system and now... now audio from emby... youtube and everything else is fine... but not emby. (by the way no updates to emby occurred) it is still working fine on my nvidia shield so not the end of the world. but I need to figure out what caused it :)

Hi, While playing back click the cog icon and select Stats for Nerds.

Take a screen shot and post it.

Also check to see if the media has multiple sound tracks you can try/test.

Yeah I would love to do that but it suddenly just started working. I restarted the server several times and who knows.... it started working on the 4th or 5th restart :) This is one of those ones where I would tell the customer... hmmm i cant replicate that it works on my local :) and go on to coding something else
