Jrod696 17
It will not play subtitles, it sees them and the box is checked but there is nothing, I also tried extracting on the fly and that did not work either. On the fire sticks they do play just fine from the same file. The Fire TV is using software version 1.5.65a I have also sent the logs as well. Luke 37196
There should still be an emby server log though, right?

Luke 37196
Yes what kind of subtitles, and are they embedded or external? I do not see any requests for subtitles in your server log so I'm guessing they are either embedded, or the track wasn't actually selected. Thanks. Jrod696 17
They are embeded in the file, and on Fire TV in the subtitles it says they are there and has a check mark in the box showing them as selected. In fact they are Forced subtitles and flagged as as forced and default. Only the new Fire TV has the issue, the other Gen 2 Fire TV Sticks play the subtitles by default just fine without issue. Jrod696 17
So a second update, if I change it to 1Mbps forcing it to transcode the subtitles show up, if it is direct playing they do not. I then went and downloaded the SRT file and put it in the folder named accordingly and it sees it as well, when I select the SRT file the subs show up while direct playing. Luke 37196
So only with direct play there is a problem with the pgs subtitles, is that correct?
Jrod696 17
So only with direct play there is a problem with the pgs subtitles, is that correct? Through all the different variations of testing I have done it appears that is correct, if there are embeded PGS subs and it direct plays it sees them and you can select them but they will not display. Luke 37196
Ok we'll see what @@ebr thinks. Thanks.
ebr 14950
It is the compression on the subs. Exo doesn't support that right now but they have added support in the dev line so we should get it soon.
