eugelai 0
I used to run Emby as a Windows service, but now since the update to 3.4, the path is broken. The path to executable in the windows service is this "C:\Users\Eugene\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\system\MediaBrowser.ServerApplication.exe" -service This file no longer exists. What has changed and how can we re-enable Emby to run as a Windows Service in 3.4 ?
KMBanana 84
Not sure what changed, I just removed and readded it as a service with NSSM and it started working again. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Running%20Emby%20Server%20as%20a%20Windows%20Service
eugelai 0
Thanks, I'll do the same. Isn't this the same directory? Application path: path to EmbyServer.exe Startup directory: folder containing the above executable

Luke 37251
Application path would be the full .exe path and not the containing folder path.

eugelai 0
OK, I must be an idiot or I'm missing some or part of the instructions. When I create the Windows Service using the method above, I end up getting a Emby service created that runs C:\Nssm\nssm.exe
Luke 37251
That's normal. NSSM is a little utility that allows any program to run as a windows service, so going forward those are our recommended instructions.
