timeburn 1 Posted April 16, 2018 Posted April 16, 2018 I just set up my Emby server for external access. I've got the ports forwarded, the domain name set correctly, and a valid SSL cert. I can access the server directly (from outside) via http://<host.domain.org>:8096 and https://<host.domain.org>:8920. Works great. Yet Emby Connect completely fails. If I or another invited user logs in at app.emby.media, it shows the correct server listed. But attempting to connect always says "We're unable to connect....right now..." I've tried turning off SSL to no avail. Different browsers, and the android app have the same result. What am I missing?
timeburn 1 Posted April 16, 2018 Author Posted April 16, 2018 Standard webserver cert from Letsencrypt. When connecting directly via browser, it shows the cert is valid. But even with "Require HTTPS" disabled, still Emby Connect fails.
Solution timeburn 1 Posted April 16, 2018 Author Solution Posted April 16, 2018 Aha! looking at the browser console, I saw it was attempting to connect to _almost_ the right name. I had one character missing from the emby external url config. Fixed that and now it connects. Thanks! 1
