Tolotos 61
Hi, I'm moving to a new server. How can I move the watched states and user tags, ... of all users from the old server (Windows) to the new one (Linux)? Tolotos

Dibbes 436
Hi, please check out our wiki on backing up data: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Backup Please let us know if this helps. Thanks ! Even though what Luke suggest definitely works, I found that the Trakt plugin is easier to use if you only have a few users. Just set it up for the users you want to keep the sync data of, sync to Trakt, on the new server setup the accounts again and import the playstates... I'm running various servers for various purposes and, next to this plugin keeping the servers in Sync, it has also helped me migrated fairly easily in the past... Thanks ! Hi @@Luke, I'm moving from Windows to Linux. Can you tell me the correct path for placing the back files? BTW a restore function for the backup plugin with db-merger would be nice. Hi @@Dibbes, Trakt doesn't sync my user settings and tags. So I must go the hard way as Luke described. --- Tolotos

Tolotos 61
Put them anywhere you want and just point the backup plugin to the folder. Will this include my user settings (tags) as well. so I don't need the sql stuff? Edit: Done work - copy 10TB media to linux - copy latest backup of old emby to linux - install emby on new linux - install backup plugin - configure backup plugin to base folder of copied backup - restore backup - replace windows path with new linux path in library entries - start library scan Edited April 17, 2018 by Tolotos
Luke 38342
Yes but when you restore I would uncheck the box to not restore your library folders and instead set them up from scratch. Since you're changing operating systems I think that's a better option.
