DrDoom 2 Posted March 31, 2018 Share Posted March 31, 2018 Hello @ all i have another question and hope to find help here. I have a FreeNAS Box with Emby Plugin running fine. What options do i have to set to only stream my content? I have 3 clients (all pc's) using a browser to play back. All connected via gbit lan. The reasion for my request is, that i dont like the transcoding quality. I tried ever possible combination and non fit my needs. If you really want you can revoke user permissions for transcoding but then you'll need to make sure that each device supports the content you want to play, or else you'll see playback failures. Ok so you've done what you wanted, now you have to limit your playback to what the browsers support. That pretty much means mp4 video files with h264 video and aac or mp3 audio. Does that match up with your video files? It doesn't sound like it based on what you said earlier about xvid/h265. It looks like you will need to choose between converting your video files or turning the transcoding back on. Has this answered your question? The Transcoding quality is very poor and i want to optimize it. what settings are the best? My CPU is a Intel Pentium G4560T OS is as mentioned befor FreeNAS 11-1 U4. I dont have a GPU. on the other hand, is it possible to teach my browser (Opera) how to handle mkv files? or is there a emby app for opera? Thank you again! Luke 37093 Posted March 31, 2018 Share Posted March 31, 2018 I would suggest default settings. It sounds like your server just can't handle the transcoding. Chrome has support for mkv, but only the container. It still won't direct play if it contains h265 or xvid. You may want to consider converting video files.
