Richard Branches 232
Every time a single audio or video file is transcoded, the server creates multiple log files: So why not to create one single log based on the name of the audio/video file and overwrite it every time the same file needs to be transcoded or append the new information in a log that already exist: This helps to declutter the log folder and also helps to locate easily a log when we need to send it for review. I hope this is possible to implement. I count on your upvote for Emby developers to take this suggestion into account. Thanks. ebr 14959
Hi. We're not really too concerned with the log folder being "cluttered" as it is for diagnostic purposes only. As such, we also don't want to destroy information or alter past information on subsequent playback. Also, the same file could be simultaneously transcoded for two different devices. I think the system we have now is fine although incorporating some portion of the source file name into it may not be a bad idea. Thanks.
Carlo 4331
Having the name and maybe date/time embedded in the file name would be great! One less need for find or grep.
