Interlaced MPEG-2 videos are getting transcoded

Hi.  You are encountering our automatic fallback handling.  Some of the examples above transcoded because of selected unsupported subs and others were due to failures when attempting to direct play the item.  Sometimes odd encodings or other factors will make an item not direct playable and, when we can determine that error, we automatically switch to transcoding so the item will play.

If you bring up the "Stats for nerds" in the beta of the app, it will tell you when this is the reason for transcoding.

All of the examples have vobsub subtitles, they all get transcoded because of the unsupported sub, other videos without vobsub subtitle didn't transcode or presented failures while playing.
