Grant Access to All Users - Google Sync and Folder Sync

I've finally got the Google Sync and Folder sync working in Emby.  Both plugins reliably convert and copy the necessary files to their proper locations.

 

Both of these plugins have a "Grant access to All Users" checkbox.  What does that mean? Do the other users (other than the person that created the sync) have access to the files that are already synced to those folders? Or does it mean that the other users just have the ability to sync items to that Sync profile?

 

I was hoping for the former to be true so that if I add one other user to my Emby server, that they would have access to the files I've already converted to lower bitrates for streaming on a mobile device.

It's the latter. All users will have access to the synced versions regardless.

So, if the one extra user I want to add already has access to the sync versions, I can leave the checkbox off.  And they'll be able to play whatever is compatible with their phone or tablet if its already available.  fantastic!
