Smitty018210 75 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) Hey not what you want but might help you like it dose me. I'm half def in one ear so I was always looking to find a way to do this too. I found Equalizer APO (google). You can set the gain higher or lower it. I like it because you can also do left or right channels as well. Word of advise though, turn the gain off when you are not using it. (It stays on) Works really well with headphones too. Good luck. ~smitty Edited January 29, 2018 by Smitty018210
Jdiesel 1210 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 (edited) It is generally frowned upon to ever "boast" an audio signal as it not only reduced quality but also can introduce distortion that can damage equipment. When setting an equalizer the rule of thumb has always been cut the peaks, not boost the nulls, although a boost of +3db is usually consider acceptable if there are no other options. Is there anyway that you can lower the volume of the other programs? Edited January 29, 2018 by Jdiesel
yaggermr 2 Posted February 2, 2018 Posted February 2, 2018 I would love to choose custom volume boost. I'm not sure what it is but files played direct on Emby are often lower than when played back via Kodi or VLC.
SoniC_1 0 Posted January 16, 2023 Posted January 16, 2023 Posting this also here cause.... not only me and a lot of ppl complaining.... So please excuse my "repost" from another thread : Why won't you simply include a "volume boost" not only during transcoding but in general ? And make this optional with a warning that this could seriously impact the quality or even damage your sound system ? Similar to VLC and whatnots.... I am a premium member because I like Emby, but seriously..... this has been requested over and over and over again.... Just... include it into your clients.... Believe me - People WILL be happy. Thanks. P.S. I am also seeing a low volume in some movies.... Of course I could turn the volume up on my soundsystem, but it is adjusted to be "ok" for everything else than Emby, so why should I touch it. BOOST OPTION PLZ!

Hi, in other such situations you'd simply raise the volume in the player that you're playing from. The reason this option exists when transcoding is to offset for the sometimes reduced volume that is observed when converting the audio from one format to another.
