daniel.bmyer 9
Well, it was playing much smoother but after 20seconds stopped working. I'm going to reboot and try again

Guest asrequested
Ok, chuck this in your mpv.conf, and give it a whirl hwdec=auto vo=gpu scale=oversample tscale=oversample
daniel.bmyer 9
Nope, same problem. Stops working and closes.
Guest asrequested
Still choppy?
daniel.bmyer 9
Well, it seemed ok for the 5 seconds it played before it stopped working
Guest asrequested
Ok, I don't know why the app is closing. There's some kind of environmental thing, going on. I want to test that mpv.conf in Theater. Copy the file and paste in this directory C:\Users\YOU\AppData\Roaming\mpv Then play the movie in the test build from here https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/46763-theater-mpv-test/
daniel.bmyer 9
So the mpv folder in roaming was empty. I copied the conf file into the root of the mpv folder. Is that right?
Guest asrequested
Yup! Set your audio to stereo, and give it a shot.
daniel.bmyer 9
If I load Emby it connects to my server so I can't play the file from my local disk
daniel.bmyer 9
From Emby it plays without crashing but it's choppy
Guest asrequested
That's fine, the issue doesn't appear to be related to that
Guest asrequested
OK, in your video settings, select 'Enable video display syncing' , 'Enable Interpolation' , 'Temporal Axis scaling method = oversample' and your audio set to stereo and HWA to auto Edited January 30, 2018 by Doofus
daniel.bmyer 9
Ok, did all that but still plays choppy. Keep in mind I'm playing the file from my laptop wirelessly. I'm going to have to all it a night. Gotta get up early for work. I appreciate the effort. If you need more testing I can do so tomorrow as well. Guest asrequested
Ok, next you can try this. Clear out your mpv.conf, except the logging. Then add this. hwdec=auto video-sync=display-resample interpolation=yes tscale=oversample display-sync-active In Theater, in the audio settings deselect all audio passthrough. Set HWA to auto, and all other video settings to default/auto, and play your file. You can also try it in the standalone. daniel.bmyer 9
Using the standalone of ET or the installed version it still plays choppy. MPV alone, just crashes after a few seconds.
Guest asrequested
Remove that from the mpv.conf for theater, and enable opengl hq in the settings, and try again.
Guest asrequested
Luke, it might be a good idea to add this in the stats. It will show up as DS to show that display sync is actually being used. display-sync-active
daniel.bmyer 9
Remove that from the mpv.conf for theater, and enable opengl hq in the settings, and try again. You mean from the mpv.conf in c:\users\me\appdata\roaming\mpv? I"m getting confused to which Emby I should be running, the installed version or the standalone version? Guest asrequested
Sorry, yes, that one. That's the one theater will use. The other one is specifically for the standalone.
daniel.bmyer 9
Ok removed all settings from that mpv.conf file and tried again...exact same, very choppy
