AZRichG 10
This has happened to me for a while, even with the latest build. I'll be watching a live tv channel in a browser window on the computer that has Emby running when it'll just stop playing. At first I thought it was because the show was over that I had selected to watch! Everything is up to date on my system, OS 10.13.3 latest Emby 3.2.70.0. I checked the Activity monitor where everything seems fine. I will check to see if there's any updates from SiliconDust. The attached zip has two ffmpeg-transcode files and one server file. Should there be two transcode files? Logs.zip
Luke 37174
Hi, there's no obvious problem here. were there any errors in the browser console?
AZRichG 10
Okay, where do I look for that? Console app I'm assuming. The two transcode logs is normal then, I take it? I have two ffmpeg processes running at the same time for one stream now, both using ~58% CPU.
Luke 37174
Yea assuming you're on safari it would be the safari debug console, or chrome debug console if that's what you're using. thanks.
AZRichG 10
Well, I will admit to not knowing what I'm doing with Console, but I searched for Safari and got these results- This was after live TV was playing and then it popped back to the guide somewhere around 0733ish. default 07:33:56.842574 -0700 nsurlsessiond Current discretionary status for com.apple.Safari is discretionary (opt-in: 0) default 07:33:56.843130 -0700 cloudd created task (CKDModifyRecordsURLRequest requestUUID:9755450D-66B3-4856-BB40-DF604E6CFD52). nsurlsessionCached (T). configurationName (host=gateway.icloud.com:outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool). default 07:33:56.849203 -0700 dasd Submitted Activity: com.apple.CFNetwork-cc-382-985-Task <919B8A42-2FE2-45BB-A11D-EE543C7D4682>.<com.apple.cloudd>.<outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:uuid:E3EF7950-6B91-4430-A9E6-13AF2F464ED4>.<2>:5B2854 <private> default 07:33:56.851794 -0700 dasd com.apple.CFNetwork-cc-382-985-Task <919B8A42-2FE2-45BB-A11D-EE543C7D4682>.<com.apple.cloudd>.<outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:uuid:E3EF7950-6B91-4430-A9E6-13AF2F464ED4>.<2>:5B2854:[ {name: ApplicationPolicy, policyWeight: 5.000, response: {Decision: Can Proceed, Score: 0.63}} {name: ThermalPolicy, policyWeight: 1.000, response: {Decision: Can Proceed, Score: 0.60, Rationale: }} ] sumScores:32.572278, denominator:34.910000, FinalDecision: Can Proceed FinalScore: 0.933036} default 07:33:56.851841 -0700 dasd 'com.apple.CFNetwork-cc-382-985-Task <919B8A42-2FE2-45BB-A11D-EE543C7D4682>.<com.apple.cloudd>.<outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:uuid:E3EF7950-6B91-4430-A9E6-13AF2F464ED4>.<2>:5B2854' CurrentScore: 0.933036, ThresholdScore: 0.542709 DecisionToRun:1 default 07:33:57.244000 -0700 cloudd captureMetricsForTask=CKDModifyRecordsURLRequest requestUUID:9755450D-66B3-4856-BB40-DF604E6CFD52:host=gateway.icloud.com:remoteAddress=<private>:localAddress=<private>:connectionUUID=B01D114A-60DD-4E4C-A117-2FBE1BDB6CE0:qualityOfService=utility:reuse=0:i=en0:protocol=h2:requestHeaderBytes=1108:requestBodyBytes=1408:responseHeaderBytes=393:responseBodyBytes=700:err=F:dnsDuration=0.082:tcpStartDelay=0.001:tcpDuration=0.156:sslStartDelay=0.034:sslDuration=0.131:requestStartDelay=0.009:requestDuration=0.000:responseStartDelay=0.134:responseDuration=0.000:transactionDuration=0.134:outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:2app=:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:tlsPinning=T:reqTimeout=60.00:resTimeout=-1.00:appleIdSessionId=com.apple.cloudkit:metricRequest=F default 07:33:58.510066 -0700 dasd COMPLETED com.apple.CFNetwork-cc-382-985-Task <919B8A42-2FE2-45BB-A11D-EE543C7D4682>.<com.apple.cloudd>.<outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:uuid:E3EF7950-6B91-4430-A9E6-13AF2F464ED4>.<2>:5B2854 <private>! default 07:33:58.510153 -0700 dasd NO LONGER RUNNING com.apple.CFNetwork-cc-382-985-Task <919B8A42-2FE2-45BB-A11D-EE543C7D4682>.<com.apple.cloudd>.<outOfProcess=T:allowExpensive=T:powerNap=F:app=com.apple.Safari:disc=F:pool=com.apple.cloudkit.BackgroundConnectionPool:uuid:E3EF7950-6B91-4430-A9E6-13AF2F464ED4>.<2>:5B2854 ...Tasks running in group [<private>] are 0! Luke 37174
Ok, the two transcode files are likely the cause of the issue and I can reproduce that. I'm looking into it, thanks.
AZRichG 10
For grins I tried watching a live station on my iPad while watching the activity monitor. It initially plays for 5 or so seconds normally then the iPad goes blank. Right when that happens a second ffmpeg process starts. Even though the screen is blank the HDHR-CC light is on and the ffmpeg processes suggest the server is doing it's thing. Here's the log- Log.txt.zip Edited February 5, 2018 by AZRichG
Luke 37174
It's resolved for the next release of the server. Workaround for now is to play using the online web app http://app.emby.media Thanks.
