marauder 17
I was on emby 3.2.6 on Ubuntu. I ran and update through Ubuntu Repos to upgrade to 3.2.7. Upon doing so my Emby installation we defaulted to a new install. Luckily have I configuration backup, but why did it dp a fresh install? Update command: 'apt-get install --only-upgrade emby-server'Repo: deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/emby/xUbuntu_14.04/ /
Luke 37214
Hi, it really shouldn't have done that. We'll have to look at the emby server log: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.

Luke 37214
How did you install the previous version, 3.2.60?
marauder 17
The 3.2.6 was a fresh install by downloading the deb package from the website. It was something you recommend to me in another thread as I was having ssl issues for media playback only, and my original install was quite old and had just been updated through the repo. Luke 37214
Ok so to update you would go back to the website and follow the install procedure to install the new version.
marauder 17
So i shouldn't update through the repos then? Does that mean each time I update I have to do a full reinstall?
Luke 37214
No, it's not a reinstall, it simply installs over the top of your existing version.
marauder 17
Thanks. So from now on i'll just download and update using Replacing the version with the latest Download emby-server-deb_3.2.70.0_amd64.deb dpkg -i emby-server-deb_3.2.70.0_amd64.deb
Solution Luke 37214 Posted January 22, 2018 Solution Share Posted January 22, 2018 Correct yes. We may at some point in the future establish a repository so that you can do apt-get update, but these packages are brand new right now and we haven't had a chance to look at that yet. Thanks.
