Emby still doesn't use the first picture as thumbnail in some cases

@@Luke apologize  again....

But I found it doesn't really be fixed.

When I crated my library again, I really see the thumbnail works right,

but when I click "Refresh metadata", the thumbnail changed to the sub-folder's primary.

It seems like the thumbnails generated by the first scan are correct when creating new libraries or adding new files to libraries.
but there are still problems with the thumbnails generated by refreshing metadata.

Please don't remove this from your fix list

感谢您的反馈。

@Luke

Hi,  14 months passed, I'm using 4.6.0.8-beta now.

But I found this problem is still there.

Do we have any progress for this problem? Thanks

Did you try sorting by file name?

@Luke

Yes, I used sorting by filename.

But...I don't understand,  my problem is  Emby  doesn't use the first picture as thumbnail, just like the mp4 file I attached in this post.↓

It's nothing about sorting order.

@CatSama I just tested this on the upcoming 4.6 release and it worked exactly as you are expecting. @Happy2Play can you try it?

From a New library standpoint in 4.6 it worked as expected, but from a existing library adding my test images I get image from first subfolder instead of image in parent folder as CatSama describes.

Images 1-5 all at there own level with 1 being parent.

Also doing a Refresh all replace image changes each folder level up one level, so when it reaches the last sub folder all folders have the same image.
