pfunk 0 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 I'm interested in installing the Beta version of my current stable install. Is it simply a matter of downloading the setup.exe file from here: https://emby.media/windows-server.html and running that on my existing Emby server?
CBers 6971 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 In theory yes. What version of Stable are you currently running? What are your reasons for installing the Beta version please?
pfunk 0 Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 I just like always trying the latest and greatest. :-) I'm currently running 3.2.60.0
Happy2Play 9229 Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 (edited) I'm interested in installing the Beta version of my current stable install. Yes you can update from current stable to beta version at anytime. You can not downgrage from beta to stable at anytime without issues in databases and plugins. Edited January 8, 2018 by Happy2Play
gwbaker 4 Posted March 4, 2018 Posted March 4, 2018 Yes you can update from current stable to beta version at anytime. If I elect to update to a current beta version (to fix current podcast and library issue) can I then later update to a regular stable release once it is out without any issues?
Riggs 303 Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 (edited) Hi I have a quick question. I'm running the 3.3.1.28 beta version server on windows 10 I saw a few minutes ago the version 3.4.0.0 The beta pull the new versions or i need to install at hand? Automatic server updates is ON Thank you in advance Edited May 2, 2018 by HRSCR
Luke 39008 Posted May 2, 2018 Posted May 2, 2018 The beta won't pull from stable. Typically immediately after the stable there will be a new beta to match, so later tonight you can expect a 3.4.0.1 beta, hopefully. If not then tomorrow. You can also take this opportunity to switch back to stable if you want, since beta and stable are just about the same at this point, installing stable over your beta is safe. 2

Thank you for your quick answer. For now, I keep running the beta because the idea is help here. I can wait, no problem. Is good to know that I can switch back the beta to the stable for some special reason in the future. I'm new here, how you can see I'm in the process of knowledge very well the environment and settings with the server side and the Android TV APP with my nVidia Shield to tune my setup. Is a process and with the beta the precess never stops I really appreciate the help and attention that i receive from the community and the team. I hope can help soon too.
