proost 0
Hello- I successfully installed MB3 server on one machine and MBC on 3 machines. On the fourth, it hangs on the migrating library dialogue and never completes. I am sure it is something simple I am missing. This machine previously had MB2 running just fine on it. Thanks for your help on this! Matt
ebr 14916
It is probably a permissions issue. There should be a log generated in the logs folder called migrate. But, you can simply close the window by right-clicking the task bar and it should complete fine.
proost 0
Thank you for the fast response. I tried this and I get the "The media browser 3 program has stopped responding and you will be returned to Windows Media Center." error. It never fully loads. What logs will you need to diagnose this? Thank you! Matt

proost 0
Thanks for your help! I apologize, I do not know which logs this issue is related to so I attached all ofthe files that are in MediaBrowser-Classic folder. As you can see I have been trying to get this to work for some time.. Thanks again! ebr 14916
Do two things: 1) Upgrade your server. You are running the version from six weeks ago. 2) Look in your \Windows\ehome folder on the machine having problems with MBC and delete the file "chocolate.dll" if it is there. That is what the migration tool is attempting to do but it is hanging.
proost 0
Thank you! Server: I am running version 3.0.5171.19958 and it says it is up to date in the configurator. Is that not the current version? ehome folder: There is not a chocolate.dll file in that folder. I can post screen shots if it will help. Not sure where to go from here... Thank you! ebr 14916
The MBC log you provided reported your server version as 5135. From the how to report a problem topic: If you have a crash in MBC/WMC, we will need the .net error from the Windows Event Log as explained here. Solution ebr 14916 Posted March 10, 2014 Solution Share Posted March 10, 2014 As I originally suspected, you have a permissions problem on that machine. Access to the path 'C:\Users\Matt\AppData\Roaming\MediaBrowser-Classic\Configurations\MBCommonXml.config' is denied.
proost 0
Thank you very much! How do I rectify that issue?
ebr 14916
I'm not sure. It will depend on how you have that machine setup. Is "Matt" the user that is attempting to run MBC? If so, it appears he doesn't have access to his own user folder. If that is the case the Windows profile may be corrupted which means you would have to remove and re-create the user (in Windows). proost 0
Thank you EBR! I am heading over to donate asap! EDIT: It was not as easy as I thought, but I figured out how to create a new account and not lose all the shares, mapped drives, libraries, etc!! I would mark this solved if I knew how. Thanks Again!
