3.2.60 - manual install fails - 2012r2

So running 2012r2

currently running emby 3.2.36

love the idea of mutliple formats - may need to rename everything 

 

tried to install from web download

 

got this error

"could not move system directory to backup"

system.io.ioexception

the system cannot access the file as it's being used by different service

(sorry screen capture n/a s via snipping tool - won't copy across ??)

 

 

disabling emby service = same result

Something is holding the folder so you have to either wait for it to be released or restart your machine ensuring Emby is not started as service or at startup and reinstall from the download page.

follow up

 

after a reboot

 

emby tries to update:

 

error updating application

C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\2\mediabrowser.updater.exe is being used vy another process ?

so moved contents to another folder called old

 

re-ran the setup.exe (by the way should be called "EMBYsetup.exe" to distinguish it)

with the contents removed from C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp\2\

emby 3.2.60 installed properly
