hstamas 153
I know this has been requested before (probably by me) but last night was yet another example why it would be great to get this request going. I had both the 2D and 3D version of the movie we planned to watch last night ripped and ready to go. Starting the movie, Emby made the decision to play the 3D version. Thats fine, thats what we wanted. Luckily it always seems to choose 3D over 2D so it has not been an issue... until now. I must have done something wrong when ripping but the 3D version is just not watchable being full of artifacts and glitches. Disappointing but the evenings not lost, I'll just play the 2D version...but how?? After stumbling around for 15 minutes while my family gets increasingly more annoyed at "dads stupid hobby" we gave up and went our separate ways for the night. How the heck can I make it play the version I wanted it to play?? I know PlexKodiConnect has got this going over on the Plex side of things we we all know that a good part of that addon was taken directly from here so I know its possible to have Emby for Kodi pop up a requestor and allow you to choose the stream you want to play. Please save me from another repeat of last night!
Luke 37064
It's probably easier for embycon then the syncing add-on I would imagine. @
hstamas 153
This is great guys - Thanks! If there is any way to get this going in the regular sync add-on that would be ideal as I have some smart playlists that I use that would not work with Embycon but anything is better than nothing at all! Angelblue05 4130
Can definitely be done with emby for kodi. With add-on playback it would be built-in. Native playback would have to be done via an entry in the menu since the add-on has no control over what happens at playback.

pir8radio 1292
Wow, from request to execution in under 48 hours. I can't say I've seen that too many times, If at all, on the other guys forums.
hstamas 153
I have added media source selection to the latest beta of EmbyCon. Thank you so much! Picky little request if possible. PlexKodiConnect, when the source selection pops up lists the actual file name to choose from. EmbyCon will just list the quality (1080p/H264/DTS) for example. Is it possible to get it to list the file name like PlexKodiConnect does so we dont have to guess which one to choose? Angelblue05 4130
Yes, it will come. Thank you for your patience. Unfortunately the whole playback needs to be reworked and updated with the latest Kodi api to fix a lot of tiny issues. Anyway, I'll keep you posted when this will be added. Angelblue05 4130
In the meantime, you can always cast playback for the videotrack you want, to Kodi via the emby webclient (using play to device)... Edit: I think. You can try and let me know. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Edited December 13, 2017 by Angelblue05

Angelblue05 4130
This is currently supported with the latest beta version of Emby for Kodi if you want to help test. You can find the version in the beta repository (note, Krypton is the minimum build required).
hstamas 153
Just got the chance to test this out on an Nvidia Shield running official 17.6 and the latest Emby server running on a Mac.Although the selector pops up when a movie with multiple versions are present, the movie played is always the same no matter what version is chosen.Logs attached. kodi.log Edited January 13, 2018 by hstamas

Angelblue05 4130
Use 3.0.4a from the beta repo. What I provided you with was never a fix, as I stated it was only to get additional logging since I could not replicate the issue. The repo version, contains the fix. Thank you. Don't be afraid to uninstall reinstall the add-on. It does not wipe anything away unless you reset your local database. So uninstall the test version I made for you earlier, 3.0.4a. Install 3.0.4a from the beta repo which contains the fix to your issue. I hope I have not confused you.
