Muxed SRT subtitles look worse than external SRT subtitles

Using version 1.5.16g on an nVidia Shield, if I play SRT subtitles that are muxed into the mkv, they have a ugly look . Playing external SRT subtitles look much better.

Examples.

External:

There's another issue with muxed SRT subtitles as well. Whenever a line of text from the subtitle is displayed, the video hiccups for a split-second. It doesn't happen with PGS or external SRT subtitles.

Other than differences in the subs themselves I'm not really sure what the issue would be here because both are being rendered by the player (or should be based on your description).

Can you please play each of those and send separate logs from the app and be sure to come back here and tell me the information about each log.

Thanks.

Looks like this was fixed recently? I wanted to send over the logs to help troubleshoot, but have been too busy, but checking today, internal muxed srt subs now look identical to external srt subs.
