Genre Cleaner has gone inop, most mappings removed

Running MBS  3.0.5171.19958 and the latest version of Genre Cleaner.

MB3 is now showing ALL genres, both the  "hidden" ones and the ones I have mapped them to.

The settings for Genre Cleaner in the dashboard are just as I set them, all mappings are shown correctly. Here's part of my mappings list:

5316cf6063304_gc1.png

E.g. "Animation" has been mapped to "Animerat" and when I index by genre or enter "movies by genre" both genres are there even though only "Animerat" should be showing. Note "Animation" lists 39 items while "Animerat" only lists 3. So somehow 39 of 42 mappings have just disappeared (in this particular example).

Removing a mapping causes it to disappear from the list but the original genre is not restored. "Animation" does not come back.

Now if I add "Animation" and "Animerat" back as allowed genres, the mapping - which I deleted - is back! But so is "Animation", showing as both itself AND mapped:

Even though ""Animation" is already showing as mapped, I can create a new mapping:

5316d44098595_gc6.png

resulting in an apparently correct list (not a duplicate mapping):

But after saving and re-scanning the library, the problem remains:

None of the mapped-to genres existed before I first installed Genre Cleaner so all additions to the metadata were done by Genre Cleaner.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removed the settings xml file, re added all the mappings, but it made absolutely no difference.

Please go to the web client and refresh a movie that involves some of these genres and then post the server log.

Oops, I am afraid it's too late as I did a global edit of all the xml files and swapped the genres to the correct ones. I then cleaned out the genre cleaner and reinstalled it. For some reason it appears to work now, I did a couple of tests.

Maybe it was some file access problem that my global edits fixed that caused Genre Cleaner to not work yesterday.

But I am curious about what caused the server to reset all the genres. It actually went and replaced all the genres on its own initiative.

Here is a link to all the server logs up until yesterday when I discovered the problem.

Well, the issue you ran into when you started trying to remove genres with mappings is a bug in the config that I'll get to at some point.  For now, if you want to remove an allowed genre that has others mapped to it, go in and remove the mappings first, then remove the overall genre.

I'm having problems as well. Installed GenreCleaner on 4/1/14, and immediately mapped all my genres, whittling the number down to about 20 different genres from around 100. Restarted the server as was indicated and ran a library scan. I keep checking in on the genres and all the original genres are still there, none of my mappings are working. Uninstalled, reinstalled, reconfigured. Same result.

Using MB Server 3.0.5192.19560

GenreCleaner 1.0.1.1

I'll try that in the next couple of days, had some hardware problems with my server so I am out of commission until probably Friday.  I'll let you know.

Reinstalled genre cleaner to try to manually refresh items. Now it only shows usic and tv series. It doesn't recognize my music as a collection.

Alright, I got my library issue straightened out. Manually refreshing the album information seems to have no effect. Best I can tell nothing is happening.

I'm gonna need some pictures.  I can't tell from your descriptions exactly what you are doing or what is happening.

Here are a couple screenshots of my mapping screen as well as a screenshot of my genres screen, which is still displaying all the original genres.

Also, can you manually refresh an album with genres you know should be modified and post the server log please?

Here is the most recent log entries after manually refreshing a few items. No changes appear to have been made.

Genre Cleaner would only operate on an Album.  Did you refresh an album or individual songs?

Refreshed albums. No luck.

Exactly how?

Can you please manually refresh a few albums with the web editor and then attach that server log (don't paste, please).
