mfseeker 0
I am just transitioning from Universal Media Server to emby due to my inability to get help from the UMS forum or its developer. So far emby seems to promise me everything I want plus an active user community and a very attractive interface--both in terms of aesthetics and intuitive usability. However, none of my mkv files will play--they are marked "unsupported media type". If I change the container to mp4 (for example using "ffmpeg -i The\ Remains\ of\ the\ Day.mkv -vcodec copy -acodec ac3 The\ Remains\ of\ the\ Day.mp4)", the resulting mp4 file will play. The rendering device is an ARRIS Moxi Headed Gateway set top box, which plays mkv files fine using other media servers (e.g. Universal Media Server or the Kodi server). How do I tell emby to support mkv media files? Thanks.
