L3Nerd 2
Hey guys, i just noticed that, while watching a x265 4K movie, emby transcodes movies despite their original codec always to x264. I'm not too deep into video transcoding, but should emby not transcode x265 -> x265? Solution Luke 37186 Posted October 19, 2017 Solution Share Posted October 19, 2017 Hi @@L3Nerd, transcoding to h265 would be too much for most users CPUs to handle. That's what makes h264 more practical.

Just tested manually h265 -> h265 vs h265 -> h264. (8fps vs 40fps) Now it makes sense, thanks Luke! :-)
