Luke 37095
After five minutes we abort the extraction, that is why. Nobody is going to sit and wait five minutes for their video to load so at some point we need to kill the background process.
fbrassin 35
OK. As i see the .srt file is filling at about reproduction speed, isn't it possible to start play even if the srt file is not completed. It will complete while playing. Or is it not possible? I mean a command that i can manually run via terminal?

fbrassin 35
I found this line to extract forced subtitles. /var/lib/emby-server/ffmpeg/20170308/ffmpeg -forced_subs_only 1 -i input.mkv output.srt It is working now. Let's see tonight if it is ok. It is extracting veryyyyyyyyyyy sloooooollllyyy size= 2kB time=00:01:48.35 bitrate= 0.1kbits/s speed=1.68x
fbrassin 35
Mhh, it took about half an hour to extract subtitles of an episode during 50 minutes. I'm afraid it is not a possibility to do this. @@Luke you told in post #49 that maybe plex was downloading subtitles on the fly, but what do you mean? I select incorporated subtitles when play a movie with plex. I think they are showing incorporated subtitles in the movie. One thing is clear to me. Is it necessary to extract subtitles? Why subtitles cannot be shown directly during transcoding or streaming as they are incorporated in the movie?

fbrassin 35
Let's hope these problems with subtitles can be solved. This is the only thing that stops me from leaving plex and use emby.
NeonGOD 3
I know this is an old Thread.. But i stopped using Emby because of this exact behaviour and switched to plex which have no problem with ingrated subs on a rclone mount... now im facing a new server setup and was wondering if this behaviour still is a problem?? 'cause i rather be running emby than plex.. but won't test it out if still doesn't work so fbrassin did u find a solution on this problem ?? NeonGOD 3
I recently changed my rclone setup to try out the VFS instead of cache backend.. and just for kicks i tried installing emby again just to test if it made any differnce and it did.. don't know if the emby team have fixed subtitles or if it's because of the shift to VFS.. i basicly did a setup based on this: https://github.com/animosity22/homescripts
fbrassin 35
Are you using gdrive? In case did you have bans using VFS?
