nurgle 3
Hi hope you can help, For the last 2 nights my emby sever has crashed during the night so wake up the next morning to it not running. After the first night I setup Monit to try and make sure it's restarted if it crashes but this hasn't worked either. From last nights crash: ● emby-server.service - Emby Media Server Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/emby-server.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: failed (Result: exit-code) since Tue 2017-09-26 02:33:43 BST; 5h 3min ago Process: 24425 ExecStopPost=/usr/bin/emby-server clear (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Process: 1470 ExecStart=/usr/bin/emby-server start (code=exited, status=134) Main PID: 1470 (code=exited, status=134) Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX emby-server[1470]: /usr/lib/emby-server/x86_64-linux-gnu/libEmbyMagickWand-6.Q8.so.2(MagickReadImage+0x6a) [0x7fa0ee35084a] Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX emby-server[1470]: [0x40c4c8b4] Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX emby-server[1470]: Debug info from gdb: Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX emby-server[1470]: ================================================================= Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX emby-server[1470]: Got a SIGSEGV while executing native code. Sep 26 02:33:43 EMBYBOX systemd[1]: emby-server.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'. Monit also failed to restart it after the crash and gave up after 5 attempts. It's been rock solid for such a long time, I always keep the server updated and don't have any plugins installed. The server is used as a back end for Kodi. Logs attached, any help would be apprecited! Luke 37189
Hi, try rebooting your system and then I think it should start up fine. Let us know if this helps. Thanks.
nurgle 3
Hi Luke, I got the server running again its just that it's crashed 2 nights in a row so I'm wondering if a recent update is the cause or if you can see from the logs why it crashed. I'll see how it goes again tonight. Cheers
Luke 37189
@@nurgle I would suggest trying disabling the realtime monitor for your emby libraries. Apologies for the disruption. Try to hang in there. We are in process of dumping the mono runtime in favor of the smaller and faster .net core runtime from Microsoft. I've yet to see anyone report a crash of this nature using .net core. Hopefully in the not too distant future our ubuntu package will be switched over. Thanks. Guest plexman
@@nurgle Give the new Emby Beta a try, you won't regret it! I've been using it since the beginning and had zero (literally zero) crashes.
