henderjr 6
So this has happened every day this week. It wasn't an issue last week. I think I've had an update or two that caused it. I'm running the beta windows release(Version 3.2.30.27 beta) and HDHomerun Extend. I have the local news set to record with ABC World News tonight right after that. So first show is 5-5:30 and second if 5:30-6. Same channel. I have my settings setup to record 1 minute before and 1 minute after so it's technically 4:59-5:31 and 5:29-6:01. They overlap. Anyway I watched the local news but then ABC World News tonight is the same exact show and not the show it's supposed to be. It's like it's duplicated the first show and put it in the folder for the second show. Yesterday I caught it while it was still "recording" the second show. It was about half way though. I restarted emby which caused it to stop and restart recording thus a second file for ABC World News Tonight was created which was correct but the first file was the show recorded earlier. Does that make sense? It's very weird. I'm going to try to test it sometime later this morning and see if I don't have the 1 minute before/after overlap will make it work correctly. Edit: It happened again this morning in my test without overlapping times. Additional post coming in the next hour or so with screenshots and hopefully a log. henderjr 6
So I tested it this morning recording back to back shows on the same channel without any overlap. One show was 10-10:30 and another 10:30-11. Very odd behavior! If you look at the files themselves they're different sizes but they have the same show. See all screenshots attached. One screenshot shows the two shows I recorded from the guide. One screenshot shows the transcoding temp folder and how it's using the same file since 10am when it's 10:45 now and a different show should've started recording at 10:30. I'd think that it should've killed the 10-10:30 temp file and created a new one at 10:30? One screenshot shows the folders with the two shows. They look different based on file sizes and whatnot but they're the same show. The second show shows a date modified time of 10:47 when it stopped recording for no reason. Finally two screenshots shows that it's the same exact show for both recordings. Lastly it stopped transcoding/recording the 10:30-11 show at ~10:47. No idea why it stopped. henderjr 6
HI, yes I can reproduce this, thanks. We'll have to get a fix out for it. Thanks. Great! I'll be keeping a close eye out for a fix. Let me know if you need me to do any more testing or whatnot. Until then I'm going to have to mix recordings both with Emby with Plex so I can get back to back shows. This cord cutting endeavor is so much work!
