channel plugin media items metadata

Perhaps the closest channel I'm currently attempting to build right now is the trailers plugin.

 

 

I'm just wondering if it is possible to have the server gather metadata for items I create in the channel class (treating them as if they were new media items in a library).

 

Will the server look at channel item names and attempt to organize them, collect metadata and treat them as new movies in a library?

 

I hope I have asked that in a way that is understandable?

The answer here is that it will to an extent.

 

It's inly as powerful as the tvdb. So if you create an item that doesn't exsist yet in their database then it won't grab info until it does.

 

However, emby will parse the year out of the string, which I believe helps the "fetcher" to get the proper info.
