Redarmy 2 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 So, none of my mp3s seem to play on the PS4 web browser. Like, no theme songs and if I try to manually play a song, a loading wheel will popup for maybe a half second and then nothing happens.
Luke 40077 Posted August 26, 2017 Posted August 26, 2017 Hi @@Redarmy, believe it or not, the ps4 browser does not support audio file playback. To accomplish this we're going to have to do some trickery where we disguise the audio as a video file and then use the video player to play it. We just haven't done that work yet. Thanks !
Redarmy 2 Posted August 26, 2017 Author Posted August 26, 2017 Thanks for the hasty reply Luke. I only started setting up Emby about a week ago and your responses throughout the forums has definitely helped me get fully setup.
hjason7812 32 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Hello, i just tried to play my stored music but it will not play anything, all it does is sit there with the buffering circle going around and never plays. It happens on all music codecs and bitrates.

hjason7812 32 Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 This is why the ps4 should have a physical app
berrick 30 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 believe it or not, the ps4 browser does not support audio file playback. Hi Luke, out of the box PS4 doesn't support MP3 but for a while you have been able to install Sony media player which, if you have DNLA enabled in Emby, will play music files just fine. To accomplish this we're going to have to do some trickery where we disguise the audio as a video file and then use the video player to play it So is this really the way the Devs are going to have to get music file playback working in any Emby app or browser for the PS4. Also are the Devs able to offer some sort of time scale for this to be implemented?
Luke 40077 Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 In the web app on PS4 yes that is the way we'd have to do it. Thanks.
