alucryd 216
Alright, it's no wonder it doesn't work, you're installing the deb made for linux distributions. We have a deb specifically for netgear, emby-server-netgear.
Luke 37098
Yea where did you get these instructions? We have them right on our website download page, just click NAS, then select Netgear ReadyNAS. https://emby.media/download Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. alucryd 216
I'm afraid you borked your system by installing a package that wasn't meant for it. I would try to remove /home/emby and install again, should it failed the quickest way would probably be to reinstall readynas and start fresh. I have tried removing the /home/emby, but it keeps showing: root@ReadyNAS:/home# rm -r emby rm: cannot remove 'emby/.ssh/ssh_authorized_keys': Operation not permitted And what sucks is that I tried about 4-5 times via the Webapp from ReadyNAS installing the emby-server-netgear_3.5.0.0_amd64.deb downloaded via the https://emby.media/nas-server.html selecting Netgear ReadyNAS and downloading it.. that's WHY I tried via SSH.. Alex3111 7
Well, fixed the issue by changing the UID on the emby user to the one that matched the .ssh folder that couldn't delete and that allowed me to install via the readynas web app... I don't understand why it wouldn't use the same user or UID as before, if ALL I tried was to update from 3.4.1.0 to 3.5.0.0, the same way I installed it originally, via the webapp of ReadyNAS... weird. Lost all my settings, but not a big deal, I guess Emby will have to update all the libraries; not all is lost! Thanks for the help! usermod -u 102 emby did the trick
Luke 37098
I think it's just hard to say why given that you tried to install the other package. I'm glad you've resolved it though. Thanks for the feedback.

scalyback 0
Many thanks for that, the Beta version will work with the ReadyNAS 214? As that is not x64 architecture Or do I need to upgrade my NAS (there's an idea)
alucryd 216
That will depend on what floating point type netgear went with. Even though most (if not all) armv7 processors are capable of doing hardware floating point, most NAS manufacturers go with a software floating point firmware for the stupidest reason. You can try the armhf beta, if it does not work it means netgear is using the armel flavor of debian, then I'm afraid you'll need to find with an x86_64 device (or a cheaper arm device from another manufacturer that's actually utilizing its hardware floating point capabilities). scalyback 0
Great many thanks for the reply, I will give it a go tonight after work and update, it might helps others to decide on a NAS. 18:25 CTE: End of the day update, unfortunately that did not work error was wrong architecture, so guess a new NAS needs some research Edited July 11, 2019 by scalyback
mirszn 0
We're excited to announce Emby for NetGear ReadyNAS is now available. Installation See the download page of our website: https://emby.media/nas-server.html I have ReadyNAS 102 and running firmawe 6.10.2 As in your instructions, I went to download ->Platform ReadeNAS and downloded the file emby-server-netgear_4.3.1.0_amd64.deb on ReadyNAS via my imac. Then in ReadyNAS admin page ->apps->Upload->Browse->Upload... and installation fails.. What's I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

mirszn 0
Thank you for your reply. Although I've been using my ReadyNAS 102 for couple years now, I realize that my knowledge about the system is scarce. In the admin window of the System there is no information if it's 64-bit mode or not. I can see installed apps and available for me for installation. Unfortunately there is no Emby-app among them. I have no idea where the Netgear app store is located. Searched google but hav't got any clear indication. If you have enough patience to deal with newbees like me, I would appreciate your advice. It doesn't show on My ReadyNAS apps list and I realize now that this particular installation is not ment for my ReadyNAS102. Is there any compatible installation package available for my system? Alternatively, I could try to install the suitable package via SSH if anybody could lead me in a right direction. Thanx in advance.
