eL1337- 0
So I'm almost at the point of switching from Plex to Emby. One problem I'm facing is that LiveTV won't cast to my Chromecast. When I select play it looks pike it wants to load for a brief moment and then it just returns to black screen. No errors etc. Casting works for movies though. Before I file bug reports and all; Should it be possible to cast LiveTV? Do I need to configure some additional stuff? This is a pretty big one for me to switch from Plex and become Emby member. Edit: I'm running server on FreeNAS by the way. Installed it through the plug-ins option so I'm one version behind. Did not see anything about Chromecast in the releasenotes though so decided to wait for a comment before messing uo my installation by manual updating. Edit2: Does not work on Chrome browser on desktop either. Just a black screen. Edited August 7, 2017 by eL1337-

eL1337- 0
Hi Luke, thank you for your quick response. I looked at the transcoding logs I wanted to send and noticed it gave an error about looping. I reloaded the m3u and didn't check looping this time around. Seems to work great now. Sorry for the trouble and thanks again. And congrats on a great product!

Luke 37269
You have a really old build of ffmpeg on your freenas. are you able to update that?
eL1337- 0
Will do when I get home. ffmpeg is installed with the plugin inside the jail right?

eL1337- 0
Okay so I've installed the latest ffmpeg inside the jail but Emby uses it's own version? (/usr/pbi/emby-amd64/bin/ffmpeg , /usr/pbi/emby-amd64/share/ffmpeg) I tried symbolic link from /usr/pbi/emby-amd64/bin/ffmpeg to /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg, but that only breaks stuff. Any suggestions? josh4trunks 70
You could edit the 'command_args' variable in /usr/local/etc/rc.d/emby-server and set the 'ffmpeg' flag to "/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg"
eL1337- 0
Thanks for you suggestion. It is already set right. I'll install emby-server from ports instead of through the plug-in system and see what happens. I think all will be well then. The plug-in system looks like a nice feature in FreeNAS but unfortunately is often pretty broken. I'll report back.
