Malickfan86 2 Posted February 23, 2014 Share Posted February 23, 2014 (edited) Last week the WMC app on my Xbox 360 was working great for the first time in a while. I had no problems navigating menus and playing content, while months before I would get disconnected constantly. Yesterday I tried playing an MKV with x264 and the Xbox gave me an error. Today I wanted to test it again but the network testing wizards can't find my computer at all. I've read that Windows 8.1 did away with DLNA. Could that be the cause of this? Why was it working yesterday but not today? The upside is I've found a way to play my files wirelessly from my computer to my Xbox using the "Play To" feature. It's pretty easy to use but it bypasses WMC and my beautiful MediaBrowser set-up. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Never mind. I found out I had multicasting off in my router settings and my firewall rules had somehow been disabled. Now everything runs even better!
