Pico-tan 0
Hi, I have encountered a bug where the subtitles for one of my series does not play on the initial playback of an episode. If I quit and restart playback it works fine; it is also working if I simply set subtitles to off and then on again. Any ideas what might cause this, or of any solutions? Luke 37248
Hi there @@Pico-tan, can you please discuss an example, and then attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue? thanks !
Pico-tan 0
it seems to have resolved itself.. Edit: apparently not... When the episode starts there are no subtitles, even though it is set to be. And as previously stated, the appear if I switch them on and off again... Luke 37248
We have to extract the subtitles on the fly and this is just taking a little time. That's why it's not working immediately. The browser does not support the internal subtitles so that is why we are extracting them. For faster performance, consider obtaining external text based subtitles using our subtitle downloading feature. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. Pico-tan 0
OH, that explains a lot. Thanks!
Luke 37248
The other alternative is burning in the subtitles with transcoding. We will probably add an option to force that in situations like this. Granted, burning them in with transcoding could be very painful for your server's cpu, so we still would recommend external subtitles.
