IPTV Recording

Sometimes when recording an IPTV channel, the recording stops very early.  This does not happen all the time, but does happen regularly.  I can record a two hour show fine and then sometimes when trying to record a half hour or hour it stops part of the way through.  What can I do to troubleshoot the root cause of this?  I'm thinking it's possible that the stream gets interrupted; if that's the case is there a way for Emby to resume or retry that recording if it's supposed to still be recording and it's not?

*sigh*

I reported this ages ago (seven months) and nothing has happened.

Currently the streamcopy process is not very smart nor robust and does not detect when the stream has failed due to network interruption.

What needs to happen is that a check on the birate of the stream needs to be done and if it is below a certain limit the file should be closed and a new stream copy started with a -1 -2 or -3 etc etc apended to filename - just as it would do if the server was restarted.

Yes it would not be one file but at least you would get "most of" the recording you were trying to get albeit in segments.

It was suggested at the time to use the transcode on record option but it never really worked for me with lots of small 0 btye files.  It was a bit of a workaround anyway.

A more resilient streamcopy process is required.

Hi, Did anyone make any progress with this? I am experiencing the same problem and will carry it on from here if needed.  I am positive that it is because of a stream interruption as the same happens in DVBLink IPTV.  If there is a way to enable emby to carry on recording during the stream breaks it would be amazing!

I had to use tvheadend and pipe the iptv feeds through ffmpeg to resolve this. Native emby iptv doesnt allow piping in the m3u entries

Hi there @@mbc0, can you please discuss a specific example, and attach the information requested in how to report a problem? thanks.

I've the exact same issue with IPTV, It gets about 50% through the TV Show and then stops. I'd also like it to retry if there is an error and continue running.
