RedBaron164 18 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 (edited) I picked up a new Samsung UN58MU6100FXZA TV today to finally enter the 4k era. I have a few 4k films to test with which report being 3840x2160. This TV is my first and currently only 4K screen. I was able to play some Netflix shows through my FireTV and when I hit Info on the TV remote it shows the resolution as 4k so I'm assuming my HDMI cable is good. However, when I try to playback the 4k films I have on the server through Emby the TV Info only shows as 1920x1080p. Emby is not currently available through the Samsung App Store so I can't try it directly on the TV. So I'm wondering if I have something misconfigured somewhere or if there is just something not reporting properly. *Updated Title Edited August 7, 2017 by RedBaron164
ebr 15576 Posted July 31, 2017 Posted July 31, 2017 Can you please provide the information requested in reporting media playback issues? Thanks.
RedBaron164 18 Posted July 31, 2017 Author Posted July 31, 2017 When I get home I'll test again and upload the logs.
RedBaron164 18 Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 I have attached the latest server log. I also uploaded logs from my FireTV client at 10:15pm server-63637133454.txt
ebr 15576 Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 What does the media info in the web app look like for that item? It is direct streaming in VLC and VLC reports the resolution at 1920x800.
RedBaron164 18 Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 From the Web App the films are listed as 4K HEVC with the details listed below. ebr 15576 Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 There are two video streams for that item? What about the audio?
RedBaron164 18 Posted August 1, 2017 Author Posted August 1, 2017 (edited) No, those are two different films, here they are with the corresponding audio stream. RedBaron164 18 Posted August 4, 2017 Author Posted August 4, 2017 Just an update, I've replaced the cable 3 times just in case it was responsible. Netflix and Amazon Video both show as playing in 4k. I uninstalled VLC and tried using the Emby player and it still reports as playing in 1080p.
