Sync issues with playback of transcoded media

Started here- realized it wasn't just web so starting a new thread..

Past few weeks I've had issues with playing back transcoded media. I first noticed it when watching Veep and Silicon Valley on Monday morning when I got to work. Almost like clockwork, when the show would get to the 5 minute mark, the audio and video would get out of sync. The audio would jump to a different time. I could stop the video and hit resume and it would be fine until the next 5 minute mark.

Now it's less and less of an exact 5 minute thing. I've tested in all 4 major browsers (Chrome, Firefox, IE and Edge) and they all do it in some form or another. Some it's just audio sync, some the video jumps back in time while the audio continues.

Today I tested it in Emby Theater Windows 10 store app and it did it there too. I'm not sure if that app is using IE/Edge as a backend or not, so I figured I'd post it here instead of in the Web App section just in case..

Attached is a set of logs from a playback session of an episode of Fargo this morning. As you can see, I started and stopped it each time it crapped out on me.

Versions of ffmpeg I've tested with:

20170503 (I initially jumped to this because I was having some weird artifacting on a few files, and switching to this cleared those up - pre sync issue)

I've tested with Hardware acceleration on and off (currently it's on with Nvidia NVENC - I have a GTX 950 in my HTPC)

Transcoding Thread Count: Auto

Enable Throttling checked

Temp path blank (no custom set)

Audio boost: 2

H264 encoding preset: Auto

H264 encoding CRF: 23

Emby Server version : 3.2.22.5 beta (as I mentioned, been happening for a few weeks, at least through last stable)

I'm stumped and frustrated.
