mikefairhurst339 0
Hi, I am trying to instal the Media Server on my windows 10 PC. It tries to install .Net Framework 4.62, which fails. My PC already has .Net 4.7, this is why the installation fails. I have tried the stable version, the Beta version and even the portable instructions with the same effect. Is there any way to resolve this issue Thanks Mike
Luke 37065
Hi @@mikefairhurst339, are you trying to skip the .net install or is it actually failing? thanks.
mikefairhurst339 0
The .net istalation fails and the media server instalation stops after the failure.

Luke 37065
This topic looks similar: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows8_1-update/microsoft-net-framework-461-incorrect-parameter/98643bae-db2e-4c40-b830-6bd9bfdbdded See if this helps: Had the same on a server, just complete nondescript "parameter is incorrect" on installing .NET 4.6.2. Tried online, offline, DISM (error stating /Add-Package does not exist) and WUSA (error stating certificate invalid) with no luck. In the end it turned out that the "Software Protection" service was disabled in Services. I enabled this service, and confirmed that the Windows Update service was enabled, and installation succeeded after that.

Luke 37065
So did you try running the emby installation again?
mikefairhurst339 0
Yes, same prolem. I have just tried running it on a different PC and it ran fine, the windows version is exactly the same. I think it may be a problem with the windows install. I have now found other problems. I think i may have to reinstall from scratch, but that will haveto wait till I have more time. Thanks for your assistance
