User media folder access limitation shaky

I just created a new user account on my server, and limited the access to two out of seven media folders. All look fine when I log on as that user in the default dashboard, however, when I click the left sidebar menu the user can see, and access, all media folders there - even the ones I specifically did not allow access to when setting up the user.

I've specifically re-checked that only two out of the seven Libraries are check in the User settings, and I've specifically checked that the user can log on and access them freely using the side menu (but only two of them are visible on the dashboard).

 

However - this seems to be due to me using the same browser to check with as I was just logged in with, even after having logged out. If I login as that user from a private window, or a different device, the sidebar only contains "home", not the other options.

 

Apparently some access stays in the browser even after having logged out as a user.
