ebnerjoh 2 Posted June 5, 2017 Share Posted June 5, 2017 (edited) Hi, I have running Emby on a UnRaid Docker (but had the same in the past with my legacy Linux System). From my mobile clients I am setting up an L2TP VPN Connection to my Router. I can connect to emby but the Playback doesn't start. If I am connected to my private WLAN, then the playback is also working. Is there anything specific I need to think about when using Emby with VPN? EDIT: I am using 3.2.19.0 as Server and the Emby iOS App. When I check "top" on CLI I can see that ffmpeg is called. aptalca 70 Posted June 5, 2017 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Maybe the connection speed is low so it is buffering for a long time. Try reducing quality. If you already reduced quality, perhaps there is a problem with the transcoder. I have the server running in docker as well and can stream while on vpn just fine. tdiguy 96 Posted June 5, 2017 Share Posted June 5, 2017 I run emby on a raspberry pi 3 i remote into using a openvpn n my dd-wrt router and normally dont have issues with playback. I use the emby app so nearly everything winds up being direct play. Is your playback direct play or does it have to transcode? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It could be the internet line - I have a 3MBit Up line. How can I change the quality on the iPhone App before starting the stream?
