nbourke74 0
Hi, I am a newbie to Emby server, and I am extremely impressed and grateful for the huge effort that the Emby dev team have put into this progressively wonderful project. Kudos to you all ... so much so I have signed up for the Emby Premier and shame on anyone out there that is using this software and not coughing up the cash However, I have one major issue with the way Emby parses my IPTV M3U URL. For the major UK sports channels my IPTV provider has included FHD, HD and standard definition, but when emby imports the M3U only the FHD is available. It seems to merge similar channels together. Unfortunately, during times of high server load (popular games and matches) the higher definition channels can become glitchy and it is very handy to switch to the low definition streams, however I can't do this in Emby and to date this is a real pain and I am finding myself closing the emby app and reverting to Simple IPTV, which of course then means I can't record the game. It is highly likely that I am missing something simple. Any help with this slightly mundane problem will be greatly appreciated. Once more thanks for all your efforts, they have made my daily screen entertainment vastly more entertaining. Nige FYI the make up of my M3U: #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1 FHD" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us.archive.org/10/items/SkySports1Hd/sky%20sports%201%20hd.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS 1 FHD #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1 HD" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us.archive.org/10/items/SkySports1Hd/sky%20sports%201%20hd.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS 1 HD #EXTINF:-1 tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us.archive.org/10/items/SkySports1Hd/sky%20sports%201.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS
Luke 37116
Yes we do merge them together. An option to control that behavior is something we can consider for a future update. Thanks.
nbourke74 0
Thanks for getting back to me..... It would be great if that functionality appeared sooner rather than later. In the meantime, is there any other way the m3u playlist can be presented to overcome this problem? Thanks and regards,
Luke 37116
You will have to make sure the tvg-id value is unique. After doing that, the guide data will most likely not automatically map so you'll also need to manually map the channel.
maegibbons 1267
Hi Actually you should be able to get around this by adding channel-id tag to each line. Certainly works for me. It is then possible to share the same guide data for each duplicate i.e #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="2001" tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1 FHD" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us....ports 1 hd.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS 1 FHD #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="2002" tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1 HD" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us....ports 1 hd.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS 1 HD #EXTINF:-1 channel-id="2003 tvg-id="Sky Sports 1 HD" tvg-name="UK: SKY SPORTS 1" tvg-logo="https://ia601501.us....y sports 1.png"group-title="UK: SKY SPORTS",UK: SKY SPORTS 1 Krs Mark
