feerlessleadr 155
I'm not sure if I should be posting in this section or the general server section, but I'll start here. I currently share my library with a friend, who uses a fire tv stick and beta emby app from the amazon store to playback the content. Just this past week, he let me know that whenever he watches anything, after about 5 or 10 minutes, playback will just stop, and restart from the beginning. Unfortunately, I don't know the exact version number of either the stick or the emby app, but I do know that he is up to date with the fire tv software, and is signed up for the beta for the emby app, so should be on the latest beta version. I had him send the fire tv log electronically to the devs at about 11:47pm eastern. The name of the local user account he uses is called 'Ryan'. Additionally, I have attached my server log and transcoding log in the below dropbox link. I happen to be away from home for the past week and have been watching my library through emby theater within the Chrome browser, and haven't had any of these problems, so I was surprised when he told me what was happening. I'm pretty sure that the problem is only showing up when he is watching something that requires transcoding, however all of the media I have been watching via emby theater have required transcoding as well, so I'm not sure if that's relevant. ebr 14958
There are tons of the following errors during his playback: W/AudioTrack( 4481): The timestamp corresponds to a time before the track was most recently resumed: 86440000, 746455257 First thing I would try is turning off QSV. feerlessleadr 155
Sorry for the long delay in my reply. I turned off QSV, and while it takes longer for the error to happen, the user trying access my content via his fire tv stick is having the same problem. See attached for a link to the server log and transcode log. I also had him send the fire tv log electronically around 10:15pm EST or so. https://www.dropbox.com/s/h96jxo9lwti6mzv/Logs.zip?dl=0 Edited April 24, 2017 by feerlessleadr
maegibbons 1267
Hi What OS is your server running on? I had a touch of this the other day. It is when ffmpeg on the server is terminated the stream restarts from the beginning. I didnt get to the bottom of why ffmpeg was terminating, I just got a later version of ffmpeg. feerlessleadr 155
I'm running on Windows 10. Did updating ffmpeg fix the problem for you?
maegibbons 1267
Hi My server is on Ubuntu and I have not seen it after upgrading ffmpeg to recent build. I only briefly saw it with an intermediate version. It seemed to happen when there were multiple transcodes happening. Interestingly, and maybe unrelated, the system appears to be constantly shutting down the websocket and we have to keep re-connecting it. I'm talking like multiple times a second... You are using https, correct? Just for kicks, does plain http make a difference?
feerlessleadr 155
Yea, I am using https. I'll give https a try later tonight, and will let you know.
feerlessleadr 155
Also, when I was testing last night, I did notice that the stream restarted as soon as the transcode of the episode was done (but it was sill streaming to the person watching it). Once the transcoding was done, the episode just started restarting from the beginning every few seconds. While the transcoding was in progress, the episode streamed no problem. feerlessleadr 155
Just an update, I updated to the latest ffmpeg for Windows, no dice, still the same issue. I'll try having the users connect via http next, rather than https.
feerlessleadr 155
So I just had my friend connect using http rather than https and everything works as it should. I'm not at home to post logs, but will post the first chance I get. Please let me know if there is anything else I should try on the meantime, thanks!
