BAlGaInTl 279
Maybe I'm going about things the wrong way. At home, I connect directly to my IP:port for emby access from my clients. When I travel, I have the option of connecting to https://domain.name:IP or http://domain.name:IP. That will change to only https once TLS 1.2 is supported. I'm not using Emby Connect because I like to control my own connections. The problem is that when I create a manual server connection, it pulls the name of my server as the only thing describing it. So if I make a connection for all three of the above. I see the option to connect to SeverName, ServerName, or ServerName. There is no way for me to tell which one is which. I would like a feature to give the server a more descriptive name at the time of creation. As a bonus feature, maybe it would be possible to edit connection details after they are created. BAlGaInTl 279
What app? I think many of them also show the address in addition to the name. Android and AndroidTV Those are my main ones, and both have the problem. I assumed that the rest of the clients were the same. ETA: If I remember correctly, I think it was Emby Theater too. I just fired up the Emby Android App. Something has changed... now I only see one ServerName even when I manually connect to all 3 separate servers. So I have no idea which one I'm currently using. ebr 14936
The server connection logic is designed to identify servers uniquely and then determine the best route to that server based on the network condition. The Android TV app shows the address for the server on the second line of the card. However, due to the above, this may end up being the last best connection address.
