Bigmandenz 0
Hi I've downloaded Emby from the amazon App Store, and put it on my fire tv box, but it won't let me connect to my server. Version is 1.3.15a. It's keeps coming up with error connecting to server, however I can connect to this server with my iPad. Is there an issue with the fire tv app

Bigmandenz 0
Thanks for the replays fellas, I click on the 'skip and enter IP address' on the main screen, then I type in the address, click ok, then I get an 'error connecting to server' message. Have tried it multiple times and always get the same message. I then try the same thing on my iPad and it works straight away so I know the server address is correct. ebr 14925
Have you customized the port on your server? If so, in that version of the app, you will need to append the port to the address. The beta release has a separate field for it. Are you trying to use https? If so, try plain http. Is there a "Send Logs" button on the screen after the connection fails? If so, please press it and then come back here and tell me what time you did that. Thanks.

Sorry guys, just can't get this to work with fire tv, have tried http, but there's no option to amend the port or send logs.
ebr 14925
Are you not using the default port on your server? If not, simply enter ":portnumber" after the ip address.
Bigmandenz 0
Update, got it to work by not inputting http:// and just putting the server name in. Thanks for all your help everyone, much appreciated
robikonobi 0
i am having similar issue as well. i am unable to connect to my server via https (the default unsigned cert that comes with emby) via the firetv app. i can connect fine via the web or via other devices just not with the firetv. there appears to be a bug with the app (just says unable to connect). i am guessing that it has to with trying to connect with an unsigned cert.
