im no emby expert, installed it a couple of days ago just to play around.. But a few days ago when i connected with android app on my phone i was able to transcode livetv m3u streams.

I tried right now and i can only playback, not choose quality anymore, the option is grayed out. ?

Is this a emby premiere feature now or is something wrong?

@@Luke can u answer this?

Only thing holding me back from buying premiere atm

UPDATE

Android apps plyback is working but logs still showing http://serverdomain:8096/emby/videos/ not the external port. Server is also running https not http both are set in advanced settings- any idea at all?

If you need to connect with a specific url then make sure to manually specify that on the connection screen before logging in.

Didn't see the replies mate -  It's specifically connected Luke, it's connected via reverse proxy thus the domain shows fine- the port is wrong and it's wrong in wrong in all logs. External domain is set correctly in Emby as is port but for some reason Emby appends the local port instead of the remote port as I pointed out in the example above. If it's a false positve then good oh but the fact that 8096 isn't listening to anything on that domain will obviously cause massive issues.

Right now Emby reports-

[remote host name]:[local port] instead of [remote host name]:[remote port]

When connected in any apps including web apps the remote host name and remote port are both specified- Emby just doesn't report the correct port.

@@chiefnerd, emby doesn't apply ports. The configured address in the web interface is primarily for Emby Connect, which it sounds like you are not using. So what you need to do is manually enter the address from the Emby app you are using.

So why in this transcoding log is this happening then Luke? This is from playback through the web interface accessed directly using https - our domain ie but here we are:

http://OURSERVERDOMAIN:8096/emby/videos/9b9ce4d8a98f1897dc3a087a01b9f112/live.m3u8?DeviceId=48d5e912c4febe5967d9f2758fc84dfdb234ed49&MediaSourceId=5fed3271ac794554b127c33feb07c4d5_f59cffb669a12c87bc014aa979db29a8&VideoCodec=h264&AudioCodec=aac,mp3&AudioStreamIndex=1&VideoBitrate=59861499&AudioBitrate=138501&Level=51&Profile=high&PlaySessionId=c46d5d175a7742318ccebc3e315e6c94&api_key=ecb7d6a5ce3645c192dfd92bcda02486&LiveStreamId=a17c75760a04e99b68cf766e11316e1c_09efa0d56b934a82adec00a87b837fb0_5fed3271ac794554b127c33feb07c4d5_f59cffb669a12c87bc014aa979db29a8&CopyTimestamps=false&TranscodingMaxAudioChannels=6&EnableSubtitlesInManifest=false&RequireAvc=true

Note the LACK of https prefix and also the wrong port? Emby is set to use the domain and port 443, the reverse proxy is set to report back that domain and that port as well and also https so not the proxy- anything else?

It's exactly the same whether it's directly accessed via browser or whether it's done via app- we don't use emby connect, we only use either direct IP or domain manually added to the app.

Only difference between IP access and domain access is the URL shows the domain opposed to IP but the port stays the same regardless.

Live TV playback on android broken again 3.1.5.0. Transcoding looks fine, no errors shown in the app, dashboard shows playing on the device but nothing actually starts playing in the player.

Another oddball error has now appeared when you try to make the web app into a homescreen app- this used to work fine but now when adding to the homescreen you get a white screen with an error of 'Coiuld not finda part of the path "/usr/lib/emby-server/bin/dashboard-ui/web/index.html" - just appeared the other day randomly when I went to recreate the desktop app.

There's zero point repeating yourself mate- I'm not posting anymore logs on here til your security is sorted- all logs are full of IP's and Domains and I know first hand that someone is sniffing logs on this site because someone tried their very best to hack us 6 hours after the last logs I posted forcing a refresh of IP's and domain changes. I've told you the issue, I've told you both entries are IDENTICAL bar a domain in the URL vs an IP in the URL- the port stays identical. It does this whether it's via an actual app, web interface or anything else. Last time- LOGS IDENTICAL WHETHER IT IS DIRECT IP OR VIA DOMAIN AND REVERSE PROXY...I-D-E-N-T-I-C-A-L...that easy enough to read?

Glad you swept the other issue aside but hey-ho, I'm in no mood for games.

I understand logs help Luke but I'm just not going to risk posting logs here any more. It's fine swapping out one or 2 IP's but this is a very busy server and when you a log that's 2GB full of IP's and domains it's not just a quick task.

If you;d like direct access to the server to pull out logs I have no issue doing that at all but posting them is just a big no no as you can no doubt understand.
