When watching live tv using the HDHR Prime I do not get sound using the Android TV app beta unless I click the "!" symbol while watching tv.

I do not have this issue when using a m3u and not my HDHR.

Any suggestions?

What are your direct stream settings for video and audio in Live TV settings set to?

What type of audio stream?

What type of equipment is being used (just a TV, AVR)?

Can you please play a channel with this problem and follow the instructions under Android TV for sending a log here: How to Report a Problem

Also sent the logs to the developer in the app

Can you please provide this information?

  • Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem
  • The time you sent the log
  • The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time

Where abouts are you?

I have a MI box 3 4k 2G/8G in the UK with an HDhomerun Connect and HD plays ok.

So assume its a different format to here in the UK.

I have an issue with m3u!!!!  If i dont press "1" magic it just spins.  Has to be transcoded to work wheras a recorded program works fine - only LiveTV has the problem.

There appears to be different cases with emby where the choice to transcode or not is being made incorrectly.  I think the only way around this will be to set it on a per channel basis.

Although for me I do find it strange that recorded media works whereas Live does not.

So I used to have the issue with m3us so I switched to the Beta app and that solved my m3u issues. I got the HD Homerun for Christmas so never really tried it until I was on the Beta Version.

Everything plays fine on recorded TV.

It really is only a issue with like 6 channels that are all locals. The rest of my channels are all pulled from m3u.

Do you make your own xml or do you use schedules direct?

I am on beta and beta server as well.  Currently beta server has screwed up most transcoding for me.

In relation to the 6 channels - thats why i think we will eventually need settings on a per channel basis to deal with the cases that are not met automatically.

I use Schedules Direct.  Yes it costs but its easy.

Try setting the Audio Mode to "Downmix to stereo".

You can also try un-checking "Use VLC for Live TV".

btw - the log I found had Emby user "Kodi" not "Rob".  I think it was the right one though...

That's interesting.  Your TV is reporting that it can accept a multi-channel input but, obviously, it is not processing the one from your Live TV correctly.

Glad you got it sorted.  Thanks.
