I got my EPG and attached it to a tuner in emby .... I created a account with schedules direct and logged into it

 

am I supposed to have to link each channel up to the EPG one at a time or should it auto link them all? 

 

Here is a excerpt from my EPG password and username is removed, also you will notice in my screenshot it put a number with each channel but not just the name.

You will need to map each channel to the guide. Click on the "three dot" button next to your Schedules Direct provider. Schedules Direct will automap the channels if the channel names are consistent with the provider.

When you say consistent what does the provider use to look at the channel information? I think I have something wrong with my XML 

 

Particually I think it is with  

 

#EXTINF:-1 tvg-ID="TCM" tvg-name="TCM"

 

I think it should be 

 

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="TCM" tvg-name="TCM" 

 

would this be reason for it not auto mapping?

Consistent as in the same channel number on the m3u as the provider's channel number.

So when I look at map channel I see the name of the channel that is what needs to be right here

 

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="Fox News Channel HD"

 

or do I need this 

 

#EXTINF:-1 channel-id="360"

 

which is what Direct TV uses for FOX News

Got this all sorted out.

 

Ended up having to use the channel-id field to map the channels to the epg
