SwanStream 59
I've got some bad mojo happening with windows firewall and a VPN setup that I've not been able to solve. My setup is: Emby is on PC with all the disks/storage and the need for the VPN. Kodi is on a separate win10 machine. So, from time to time I get errors with the http access/kodi access to emby. I've tracked it down to public network and firewall but allowing ports thu hasn't fixed the problem so I'm down to leaving the public firewall off for now... But I'm more a belt and suspenders guy, so I'm wondering if it would be reasonable to move Emby to the kodi machine, but leave the drives/data on the VPN machine? As SMB access seems to be ok when the http access to the server is problematic this might solve the symptom reliably and well enough? With 100TB of storage on the main server, the little kodi machine would likely twitch and start smoking if I tried to use it as the data server as well.... Thoughts on that as a solution much appreciated.
Luke 37191
Hi, yes you could probably do that.
SwanStream 59
Can I migrate the existing? If so is there a directory path I can just copy over? If so what's the base of the structure to copy over? I've set up all the content directories as network paths, i.e. \\server\root-folder ... so in theory simple, yes? Luke 37191
I would suggest checking out the backup & restore plugin that we have in the plugin catalog as this will make this process a lot easier for you.
