Does, Settings > Appearance > File Lists > Ignore articles when sorting, work?

Can someone verify that Settings -> Appearance -> File Lists -> Ignore articles when sorting works?

I'm actually trying to turn it OFF. It works for people in the Kodi forum.

I want The Americans and The Daily Show and The Big Bang Theory to sort together but turning "ignore articles" off has no affect. I tested with Kodi 16.1 and the latest 17 nightlies with the same result.

If it's not Emby for Kodi then I'm at a complete loss. :-/

Probably do to Emby having those "SortRemoveWords" some what built in.  You would have to shutdown server and navigate to the system.xml and remove "the" string.

 

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Emby-Server\config\system.xml

  <SortRemoveWords>
    <string>the</string>
    <string>a</string>
    <string>an</string>
  </SortRemoveWords>

I shut down Emby Server, removed that line from the system.xml, went into Emby for Kodi settings, Reset the database, closed Kodi, reopened and waited for the database to rebuild.  Now things are sorting how I want!
