msgonz 4 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 Is there a way that Emby can run a script after each TV recording is done? Here's what I'm trying to do, running Emby in a Freebsd jail I would like to pass the file name and location of each completed recording to a script. The script would then run comskip to remove the commercials, I'm not running windows so MCEbuddy is out.
Luke 39008 Posted November 20, 2016 Posted November 20, 2016 There is currently no setting to do this although it's not a bad idea for a future update.
msgonz 4 Posted November 20, 2016 Author Posted November 20, 2016 FYI, Plex has added this in their DVR Beta once the recording is done it runs whatever script you want passing the file name and location, it works very well so far. It would be great if Emby could do this to.
mastrmind11 718 Posted November 21, 2016 Posted November 21, 2016 Great idea. In the meantime you could just set your recording folder to some temp directory outside your library and write a cron job that runs every X mins looking for files in that dir that were modified more than X minutes ago (which would mean the show has finished recording) ,run comskip on the resulting list of filenames, then move the file to your library. Set cron to run at an interval longer than most shows you record to avoid processing the same file more than once.
