So, I've done two things over the same number of days to test this:

  1. I left Emby running until overnight until the next afternoon:  no issues
  2. I exited out of Emby using only the back button--not the home button--and accessed it this afternoon:  gray screen

I'm at a loss as to what might be going on.

Do you happen to know exactly when you exited Emby in the session before the grey screen?

Not exactly:  it was approximately 10:30 PM when I closed it, and it was approximately 4:00 PM the next day when I tried to open it.  I'll try again tonight and log the specific time.

This still seems to be a bug. Emby doesn't always start up and I have to force stop, then relaunch. Versions show as 4.3.1.0 and 1.7.53a on emby app.

Hi.  Please try this again after the new version is released by the store.

Thanks.

Will do, thanks!! Any idea when that will be?

Hopefully, any minute.  Amazon told us it was "live" on Monday morning but it turns out it wasn't and they cannot seem to determine why.

Appears to be fixed in the new version, 1.7.78a. Cheers!

Hmm - things appear to actually be worse for the new release on our FireTV sticks - now having to resort to a FireTV stick reboot to sometimes get it to work ..

I'm just tracking the usage patterns to provide some useful info but for me it is definitely not 'resolved' at this point ..
