External network access issues

Then it looks like the port forwarding is configured correctly from those shots.

 

Sometimes there is also a separate firewall settings.  What model of router is it?

 

Is it possible that your ISP is blocking some ports?  Which ISP do you have?  Are you running any other services that work externally?  What ports are those on?

Are you sure your ISP isn't blocking?

 

Mine suddenly changed from public to private without even notifying us..

If your ISP is blocking port 8096 then nothing is ever going to work on that port.  This really has nothing to do with Emby.

 

Do you have any external services working besides Emby?  If so you could always try to change Emby's port or nat the port on your router to one that your ISP isn't blocking.

 

One way of testing out the port issue would be to download netcat and run it to open up port 8096 with Emby shutdown.  Then telnet to it remotely on port 8096.  Once you get this working, Emby will work fine.
